One nice advantage of rocky terrain is there’s usually no lack of building material laying around. This chronic damp spot near Sixmile Run (visible at top of photo) is fed by a small spring exiting the valley wall a short distance from here. It varies from being a nuisance in the summer and fall to a downright secondary stream during the spring melt. Five large stones have been employed as steps to make the crossing easier, regardless of the season.
