The Red Moshannon Creek Vista faces west southwest overlooking a half mile of it’s namesake. About where the stream bends to the right and disappeears in this photo Sixmile Run terminates by adding its flow to the mix. After following this portion of Red Mo closely the trail quickly ascends the small ridge between Panther and Sawdust Hollows where the vista is located. It then descends almost as abruptly and once again rejoins the creek grade for several miles. An old stone foundation and wall can be found about a half mile east of this vista. The bench in the foreground was made and placed with the help of Boy Scout Troop #32 out of State College, PA on November 2, 2001. An entrance to the short side trail to the bench was constructed from nearby deadfalls.
